IARPA’s [Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity] SMART ePANTS initiative aims to create apparel equipped with built-in audio, video, and geolocation sensor technology, while offering the flexibility, durability, washability, and comfort of traditional textiles. By seamlessly integrating these devices into clothing, members of the Intelligence Community can effortlessly capture environmental data without the inconvenience of cumbersome, conspicuous gadgets. This advancement enables personnel to maintain optimal mobility, ultimately enhancing their ability to react swiftly in demanding situations. The initiative brings together a wide range of high level specialties, with the brightest minds in science, technology, functional fibers, and soft goods design collaborating to bring the vision to life.

Breg CrossRunner™ Soft Knee Brace
Breg, one of the leading providers of orthopedic bracing, approached Interwoven Design Group to design and develop the next generation of their soft, hinged knee brace product line. Collaborating closely with Breg’s internal engineering and manufacturing experts, Interwoven was tasked with creating a dynamic product line tailored for individuals with mild osteoarthritis, meniscal, patellar, ACL, PCL, MCL, and LCL injuries and instabilities. Through a collaborative effort, Breg and Interwoven worked together to deliver the Breg CrossRunner™ Soft Knee Brace, a premium wearable knee brace crafted with the utmost quality to meet the needs of patients.
Halo Top PintPack
Halo Top and Crispin, Porter + Bogusky (CPB), a global creative ad agency, presented Interwoven with a vision: a high-end, insulated handbag exclusively designed for Halo Top’s ice cream pints. Responding to the challenge, Interwoven sourced premium materials, and develop, prototype and prepare the Halo Top PintPack for production. Crafted in a small batch, a set of final prototypes were produced for official photography and media promotion, while the remaining bags were distributed to brand ambassadors and social media influencers. To enable Halo Top to offer the Limited Edition PintPacks for sale, the Interwoven team prepared a comprehensive manufacturing tech pack to guide the production process.
SABER Military Exoskeleton
Interwoven Design working in collaboration with the Zelik Lab for Biomechanics & Assistive Technology at Vanderbilt University partnered with the U.S. Army to develop the groundbreaking SABER, a lightweight and flexible exosuit that assists soldiers with moving heavy loads. SABER stands for Soldier Assistive Bionic Exosuit for Resupply, and if it sounds futuristic, that’s because it is. Investment from the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command, or DEVCOM, along with funding from the Civil-Military Innovation Institute enabled this cutting-edge collaboration, which was deployed in the field in 2023.
Even Adaptive
Even Adaptive lingerie is a line of adaptive undergarments with contemporary silhouettes that can be put on with the use of a single hand. The design process spanned all the way from the creation of the brand strategy and assets, to hardware and garment development. Interwoven Design Group developed a new fastening clasp to replace and improve the user experience of the outdated closure mechanisms of the adaptive bras and panties on the market. The closure experience combined with the modern, comfortable, and colorful designs make the lingerie truly inclusive, innovative, and one-of-a-kind.
Even Adaptive lingerie won the Professional Award in Personal Accessories Category at the 2023 Core77 Design Awards and was also named an Honoree of Fast Company’s Innovation by Design Awards, Accessible Design Category.
